If you took the time to actually really do one, you would no that is no walk in the park assigment from any teacher. A research paper takes time and dedication, a few of the things I really dont have. We had to turn in our paper this week and I think I did alright, atleast I hope so. For this assigment I found myself actually going to the library and finding out new way to word thing and describe things on paper that i never could. I think every kid that hears this comin on to an assignment has pretty much thought about not doin it and giving up atleast once or twice. I know i did but when you get down to actually start doing it you feel so much better and then its not a problem to get you to do it, the problem comes when its time to stop. Its important that everyone should no how to do one for the reason that it is a good assignment that will help you a lot in life, but mostly college.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez the author of this story was such a brilliant writer. If you ask me why i would tell you to go and read this story and it will make you wanna change single handedly on how we as the human race have become to how we are now. The story is shocking when the civileans in this story actually like the spider lady than the angel who miraculously fell from the sky. It is supposed to make you see how we as the human race are not greatful for anything that happens in our life if it doesnt meet some requirments. We are so ungreatful to true miracles such as life and nature that those things dont even cross our minds on the day to day bases. In life we expect everything to be easy and everythinh to be practically feed to us, which is wrong in my point of view. What happend to simple fun and the joy of going outside and enjoying another day in this game we all cal life. Think about what i said guys.

Judging, is a word that used to control this american country but over the time has died out, and even though judging was something of the past it is still something that brings the great USA down. We have so many different kinds of people living in this country that there is no way one individual has the right to who deserves to be here or not. The moral of this story is that god does not judge anyone on his or hers race, or skin color, god says that we are all created equal in his eyes. And this story was a big reminder that even though its been decades since segregation was over, it really still has not died yet. How can we grow as country that has so much talent and youth, can still build boundries upon itself for something as dumb as where our ancestors came from. The truth is life is way to short to worry and be mad at one another, it would make this little thing we call life a better place for everyone to expieriance.

I will start this off by saying there is nothing like a sister or a brother. This story goes above and beyond what my initial understanding of the story was. When I first read it, it didnt occur to me how much family impacts a young persons life. At first I thought oh look another story about that one kid in every family who is the “messed up one”. And when you read and notice closer, it shows as if almost in pictures the amount of emotion and deppression that the young kid goes through just fom his family, but I mean who woudnt. The older brother is so perfect to him that he looks and talks to him as if he has never done anything wrong in his perfect little life, and his family seems like they just gave up on him completely. The kid really has no one to turn to, he is just a lost teenanger with a chest full of steaming emotions ready to burst out. And the Moral of the story is to try and understand why people do things and why they act the way they do instead of criticize and punish. thats what I have to say on this story.

This story brings out an old sayin ” dont judge a book by its cover.” And that is the definition of this story In my opinion at least. When his wife tells him that the blind man she has been obsessed with is stayin for a couple of days he dreads the bare thought of it. To him all blind people are how do you put it nicely “slow”. And he starts off this close minded and through out the story you see him change as a person which is life changing. This would not have been0 possible in the story if it werent for his wife falling asleep on the two of them. This is such a key development in the story, because now that they have only each other to talk to he starts to open up to him and now that they had smoked a little bit of some reefer and had a couple drinks I think he was seeing how they can do the same things that any person can and they can think only bigger. They start to converse more deeply and its then that he closes his eyes and sees that it is a differnt world in another persons shoes.

This story was one that was really different from all of the stories that i have read so far in this class because of the fact that basically the whole story is about how the character feels and how he thinks, and gets you reall close and personal as if it was you who was thinking everything that went on and ringing up all those customers with the same thoughts. It really shows how short life really is. He is the youngest there at the store and it shows his thoughts towards wasting his short lived life in that same store just like the register guy who works with him. he looks at them and has the thought so many times bout leaving and goin on to something that he feels would be not wasting his life. Although everyone has these thoughts very very few of them actually act upon them, and thats what the character in this story does he acts on it, as if saying ” you only live once.” This is why i think it is definetly worth reading.

A dolls house

This story was an eye opener to me in the sense of love. Nora gets married to trovauld who is a really posessive over her. It just goes to show how much different things were in these times, women were not looking for love they were looking for a way of how to pick a man by his money status. If you were a single women lookinto get married to a man, the things you look for are things such as money and well thats about it . Back then women just wanted a sense of security and if you had money well you met the job requirments. As appose to now days were the girls look for things such as looks and how you act aeound your friends and how you dress and most importantly how you make them feel. They get married for love and not just cuz the fact of your wealth status although I cant talk for all women im just stating simply how it works more or less in this time frame.

The Glass Menagerie

This story was really interesting, although it had its ups and downs just like any great storey would. The symbols used in this story can almost tell a new story with in itself. For example when Jim breaks her favorite glass piece or doll, its not that whats symbolic abouyt it its the fact that at that point in the story she breaks out of her shy shell and no longer has to confine in her dolls to how perfect is. She feels as if she has just been given a new life and is so happy that she did it that the glass piece is the least of her worries. Also the fact that it was written during the great deppression in the 1930′s which means that women were really still depending on the men to be the breadwinners, and now laura doesnt need one, she is now content with being a new strong women. Honestly a really good piece of Literature.

Hurricane Wilma

So I went to Cancun, Mexico this past weekend with my family and well I didnt go with my brother which kind of made it a bumer, but it was still a lot of fun. I havent been to Cancun since I was like fourteen, so of course I was excited to go. From the hurricane that hit this part of mexico was named Wilma, and it was really unfortunate for this beach side city because the natural disaster actually hit twice. The first time it hit was bad enough because when it hit it pretty much stopped moving and stayed in the same location. Then when ever it did move about a day and a half later it went right back to the gulf stayed there for a while and got all of its strength back and hit the already vulnurable city again. The after effects of this storm that happened over four and almost five years ago are tremendous, the beaches are still covered in rocks and sadly enough the sand looks like a cleaner version of G towns beaches. Im sorry, but thats sad. I mean i was exsadurating but its nothing like it was before, I mean the water is still the same a little darker but not that noticable. Its hard to just believe that the people there a week before it hit had no idea that everything could be taken away from you just like that, not for something you did or didnt do just because. Its very similar to what Katrina to New Orleans, Louisiana and I couldnt ever imagine going through somethin like that. Cancun was still under construction and a lot of hotels are rebuilding and a lot of the cities natives lost everything that they had worked for and its just sad that the world as beautiful as it is can turn so cold. I hope that eventually everything can go back to how it was.

This weekend was actually supposed to be a relieving time of the year for me. Although thats what I had in mind, little did I no that it was dead wrong about that. The night before I left I hung out with my best friend who is now basically my brother since I live with him currently. He was one of my best friends since high school but i never thought we would actually ever be livin with each other which makes it kind of cool. So when I left for a family Vacation it was kind of weird that he was not with me. Its really weird actually, because Even though I was enjoying myself it felt as if at the same I wasnt because I was not the same person that I usually am. It felt as if a part of me was missing, because there actually was. I guess I never really realized how big of an impact your friends make in your life. Now that im back im glad i am, I mean i probably sound really homo but this kid has done a lot for me. Its really hard to explain but if it wasnt for him I would be on the other side of Houston not doing anything with my life, basically he put me back on track and I have grown to care for him as like a sibling. The thing about it is that he didnt have to do anything for me and thats what makes it even greater to know that I can have a friend that wants to see me suceed in life and not turn like the rest of my family. Yeah anyway he is an awesome kid and im glad he is my friend and I dont know where I would be with out him besides lost.
